Introduction

This Privacy Policy explains what personal information the Urdu Church App and this website collect, how we use it, who we share it with, how long we keep it, and the choices and rights you have. By using the app or this website you agree to the collection and use of information as described in this Privacy Policy.

The Urdu Church App and this website are operated by Gerizim Digital Ltd, United Kingdom (the data controller), on behalf of Good Samaritan Ministries Pakistan. For any privacy question write to info@urduchurch.com.

Information we collect

Account information: when you create an account with Google sign-in or Apple sign-in we collect your name, your email address and, where available, your profile picture. We may also collect a phone number, city and church name if you choose to add them to your profile.

Information you give us: notes, bookmarks, prayer requests, testimonies, messages to the team, applications, competition entries, votes and any photos or videos you choose to upload.

Usage information: course progress, grades, certificates earned, and basic activity inside the app so that your progress is saved.

Device information: device type, operating system, app version, language, and a push notification token if you allow notifications. We do not collect your precise location, your contacts, or your files.

Google user data and Apple sign-in data

If you sign in with Google, the app accesses only your basic Google Account profile: your name, email address and profile picture. If you sign in with Apple, it receives your name and the email address you choose to share. The app does not request access to Gmail, Google Drive, Google Contacts, Google Calendar or any other Google service.

We use Google user data only to create your account, to sign you in securely, to show your name and picture inside the app, and to contact you about your account. We do not use Google user data for advertising, we do not sell it, and we do not transfer it to others except as needed to provide the app, to comply with the law, or as part of a merger with notice to users.

The use of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

How we use your information

We use personal information to provide and maintain the app and your account; to save your progress, notes and certificates; to review and approve accounts before they can use community features; to reply to your messages and requests; to send the notifications you have turned on; to run competitions and publish results; to keep the community safe and prevent abuse; and to understand, in aggregate, how the app is used so that we can improve it.

There is no advertising in the app. We never sell your personal information and we never share it with advertisers or data brokers.

How we share and disclose information

We share personal information only with the service providers that run the app for us: Google Firebase (authentication, database, file storage and notifications) and Expo (app updates and notifications). They process data on our instructions and only to provide the service.

Content you choose to post publicly, such as a prayer request, a testimony or a competition entry, is visible to other users together with your name. We may disclose information if the law, a court order or the protection of a person’s safety requires it. We do not share your information with anyone else.

Data storage and security

Data is stored on Google Firebase servers and is encrypted in transit and at rest. Access is limited to the small team that runs the app, and admin access is protected by role-based permissions. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to protect your information and will tell you and the authorities about a serious breach as the law requires.

Data retention and deletion

We keep your account information for as long as your account is open. You can delete your account at any time from Settings in the app, or by writing to info@urduchurch.com, and your personal data is removed within 30 days, except where the law requires us to keep it. Messages you sent to the team may be kept for up to 12 months so that we can follow up on requests.

Your rights and choices

You may ask for a copy of your personal data, ask us to correct it, ask us to delete it, or object to how we use it. You can edit your profile, notes and entries in the app, and turn notifications off in your device settings. To use any of these rights write to info@urduchurch.com. If you live in the United Kingdom or the European Union you also have the right to complain to your data protection authority.

Children

Gospel Voice KIDS and the Kids section are for children using a parent’s account. We do not knowingly create accounts for, or collect personal information from, children under 13. If you believe a child has given us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.

Cookies on this website

This website uses only the cookies needed for it to work and for anonymous visitor statistics. It does not use advertising cookies.

Changes to this Privacy Policy

If this Privacy Policy changes we will update the date at the top of this page and, for important changes, tell you in the app.
